Big ups to our boy Stuart Smith for snagging the spotlight as Featured Curator on the front page of YouTube today for his work on Media Muesli. Stuart started Media Muesli about 18 months ago to feature new and creative uses of media and technology. Because most of Stuart’s findings are best seen in action, the world’s largest video-sharing community tapped him to select the coolest videos on YouTube.
Right now, I’m a bit partial toward Perspective Lyrique — probably because I’ve always had a thing for freaky-ass buildings ever since I saw The Shining, although the Kiss Controller is a pretty innovative tool and would be a huge hit in New York City bars.
If you’re confused about the name Muesli, it’s okay. It’s pronounced “muse-lee” (sort of rhymes with “Bruce Lee”) and it’s a breakfast cereal that Stuart describes as “granola meets birdseed.” Nobody really eats it in America because we have awesome cereals like Cookie Crisp and C-3PO’s, but you can find it at most supermarkets. Actually, Stuart eats granola most mornings, but is fond of alliteration and “Media Granola” doesn’t quite fit the bill.
