SportsCenter Live

“More work for us. More better for you.” It started as a tagline to encapsulate ESPN SportsCenter going live from 9AM-3PM EST. But as I’m sure the people on our team, who are living in Bristol for three weeks would tell you, it also accurately describes the entire campaign. (I’d have them comment if they weren’t spending 18-24 hours everyday awake filming and preparing to film live spots.) I’m sure ESPN’s production team, who are getting an extra couple weeks of live programming preparation, and their production team partner, East Pleasant, would agree. And, last but not least, I’m sure Steve Braband would say the same—with the exception of changing that “us” to “me.”

Now, those of you who haven’t read about it yet or seen it yet on ESPN are probably asking: Who is Steve Braband? Well, he is the star of this new campaign. A Production Assistant at ESPN, who was selected for this distinct honor of wearing a 15-pound count-down clock around his neck (Flavor Flav!) and being followed by cameras just about 24/7 to let sports fans know live that SC will be going live on August 8th. We send him straight into your TVs no matter what he’s doing—whether it’s chilling at his desk, playing foosball with Kordell Stewart , running on the treadmill or sleeping (and thus being woken up to let you fans know at 2AM – just you wait!).

Our site, steveislive.com, goes live tomorrow. (That’s a lot of live.) Until then, check out what’s been done to date here.
