Before we headed back into Manhattan, we rounded the corner from Maruyama-san’s studio to visit the homie Tristan Eaton’s digs.  Tristan is the head of Thunderdog Studios, an independent creative agency that has quietly done work for everyone from Hasbro to Disney over the past few years.  He also designed the Kid Robot logo and infamous vinyl figures like the Munny and Dunny (see ‘em in the MoMA!) before starting Thunderdog.  Act like you knew!

Walking into Tristan’s spot is always like entering a highly compressed version of Willy Wonka’s factory.  There is a constantly shifting menagerie of zany creatures, toys, characters, colors and figurines exploding out of every corner of the office – you find yourself walking around for 20 minutes even before you say a word to Tristan himself.
